Ученые из японского подразделения научно-исследовательского института компании Honda разработали трехмерный чип, состоящий из трех разных микросхем, установленных друг на друга, сообщает The Inquirer. Разработка Honda предназначена для человекоподобного робота Asimo, над которым корпорация работает уже не один год.
В состав чипа входят микропроцессор, микросхема памяти и аналогово-цифровой преобразователь сигнала.
Над разработкой трехмерных микросхем работают специалисты не только Honda, но и IBM, которая намерена использовать их в своих компьютерах. Над более низкоуровневой задачей по созданию трехмерных транзисторов также работает японская компания Unisantis.
